College of the Mainland will celebrate Native American heritage at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, with a special program in Room L-131.
The program is intended to show “how rich the heritage is,” said Nathan Goldman, government professor at COM.

The featured speaker will be Chance Landry, president of the Southern Apache Museum in Houston. She will present the Apache creation story, Goldman said. There will also be a Native American dancer who is a member of the Coushatta Nation.

“It’s a learning experience of what is going on in several of the local Native American cultures,” Goldman said.
The presentation is free and open to the public. A light lunch will be served.
