The College of the Mainland board of trustees will host three public forums on the COM presidential search Sept. 6 at 7 a.m., noon and 6 p.m. in the COM Learning Resources Center.

The forums will gather input from the community and college employees on what qualities the president should possess.

As a first step in the presidential search process, an electronic survey has been developed to allow individuals to share input anonymously in creating the presidential profile. The survey link is: www.surveymonkey.com/r/73DDD33

The board plans to approve the presidential profile after the public forums.

To facilitate the search, the board has unanimously selected the Association of Community College Trustees. Board vice-chair Rachel Delgado and trustees Bennie Matthews and Kyle Dickson serve on the presidential search committee.

The COM board will appoint a diverse group from all areas of the service district to participate in the Presidential Search Committee. This committee will consist of representatives from both the college and the community.

“The board is committed to transparency and openness throughout the entire search process,” said COM board vice-chair Rachel Delgado.
