Sample the sounds and flavors of the Pacific at COM's Asian/Pacific-American Heritage Month celebration May 3 at 12:30 p.m. in the Learning Resources Center Auditorium.

Drums of the Pacific, a group that has toured internationally, will perform traditional Hawaiian and Polynesian music and dances.

This event is free and open to the public. A Polynesian lunch will be provided.

“We celebrate this month to pay tribute to the many contributions generations of Asian-Pacific Americans have made to American history, society and culture,” said Lonica Bush, an organizer for the event.

Each year COM highlights the diversity of the Gulf Coast with festivals representing its history and heritage.
