The award-winning College of the Mainland Jazz Ensemble will present a free concert on March 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Building Recital Hall.

The concert’s tribute to legendary trumpeter Miles Davis includes four of his famous compositions “So What,” “All Blues,” “Seven Steps to Heaven” and “Milestones.”

Directed by Sparky Koerner, the ensemble will also perform Duke Ellington’s swing classic “Satin Doll,” Steve Spiegl’s “Cartagena” and “Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most.” COM alum Kim Chavez will be featured on flugelhorn on “Wendy.”
