Spooky songs and suspenseful show themes will take the stage during the 11th annual Monster Musik, a free electric guitar concert at 8 p.m. Oct 29 in the College of the Mainland Fine Arts Building Recital Hall.

Rolling fog, flickering lights and eerie electric guitar chords will fill the air as COM students in the ensemble transform familiar songs into masterpieces of dissonance and distortion.

Children are welcome to wear their spooky costumes to the free, family-friendly concert.

The concert will feature sounds of doom with “Vertigo,” “The Twilight Zone” and “Funeral March of the Marionettes,” concluding with the theme from the 1978 movie Halloween.

Director John Kiefer will perform his original piece “Piasa Bird,” a musical tribute to a Native American myth of a monstrous bird depicted on a cliff painting.
