Waddle along with family, friends or children in a Halloween-themed Quacking Dead Fun Run Oct. 31 at College of the Mainland. The family-friendly fun run, hosted by the COM Fighting Ducks, has two options, a 5K and a 1K for kids 12 and under.

The first 300 registered runners will receive a free T-shirt. Participants can also join in kid-friendly Halloween activities such as pumpkin decorating. Check in begins at 7 a.m. The 1K begins at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K at 9 a.m. The cost for the 1K is $15. The 5K is $30 for general admission, $25 for a PTK member or $20 for COM students, staff or military members with ID.

The event is hosted by College of the Mainland’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international community college honor society. The run will raise funds for the Fisher House Foundation, a nonprofit that provides housing for families of veterans receiving medical care, and for Phi Theta Kappa students to learn and network with other honor students at the international Phi Theta Kappa conference.
