The Advanced Incident Command System for Command and General Staff – Complex Incidents, ICS-400, will be held Feb. 18 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Feb. 19 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Gulf Coast Safety Institute.

This course provides training for personnel who require advanced application of the Incident Command System within a Type 1 or Type 2-level incident or event. This course has prerequisite courses of ICS-100, 200, and 300, and IS-700, 800.

The Incident Command System is a standardized, on-scene incident management approach that enables a coordinated response among various jurisdictions and functional agencies, both public and private. It allows responders to share communications, facilities, equipment and personnel. All levels of government – federal, state, tribal and local – use ICS as well as many nongovernmental organizations.
