This new year, discover how to improve your OSHA recordkeeping with two free classes Jan. 16 or Jan. 23 by the Center for Risk Management at the Gulf Coast Safety Institute.

Through case studies and a hands-on workshop, you will explore the requirements for recording injuries and illnesses on your OSHA Log 300.  The class will also include updates on the new reporting rules effective Jan. 1, 2015.

Participants may attend the one-day, eight-hour class either Jan. 16 or Jan. 23

Cindy Lewis, director of the Gulf Coast Safety Institute, will teach both classes. As director, Lewis oversees the four Centers of Excellence within the institute and is an OSHA Challenge Program Administrator. Previously Lewis held the positions of industrial hygienist for KBR, safety manager for Anheuser Busch, Inc. and SHE manager for Cooper Energy Services, where she was responsible for worker’s compensation and OSHA recordkeeping for 16 facilities across the U.S., Canada and South America.

All classes are sponsored by Texas Mutual Insurance Company and presented at the Gulf Coast Safety Institute, located at 320 Delany Rd. in La Marque. Classes are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Check-in will begin at 7:30 a.m.
