This summer the Canadian coast will become students’ science lab. A new program will let COM students apply to take a biology or geology class for three weeks at COM and then travel for two weeks of field work in Canada.

Geology students will explore the natural geology of the region, investigate the forces that shape the environment and participate in field work to collect and analyze environmental data.

In biology, students will compare plant and animal life in Texas to that of Canada. The class will also explore the unique environments created by the Bay of Fundy.

Accepted students will receive a stipend from the North American Mobility Grant to cover the cost of the course, travel, and meals and housing in Canada.

The application deadline is April 23. For more information, contact Luis Sabido at 409-933-8374 or lsabido@com.edu.
