Support student scholarships and enjoy a fun, competitive game at College of the Mainland’s annual golf tournament on May 2 at the Bayou Golf Club in Texas City.

“We have a wide range of golfers, some beginning golfers who enjoy the game and networking and every day golfers who come to win,” said Tige Cornelius, coordinator of wellness and leisure activities.

Awards will be given for first, second and third place and for men’s and ladies’ longest drive.

The yearly event has fostered camaraderie and friendly competition.

“Some players picked up golfing because of this tournament. It’s fun keeping people from year to year,” said Cornelius.

The half-flight event will include a silent auction and raffle. Fees include carts, lunch, dinner, drinks, goody bags, green fees and masseuse warm-up. Team fees are $300; individual fees are $75. Businesses may also advertise by sponsoring holes. All proceeds benefit scholarships for COM students who are involved in community service.
