Whether their passion is working onstage or behind the scenes, the College of the Mainland’s Theatre Program prepares young artists through a long-standing tradition of producing exceptional, quality theatre. The program combines the expertise of an outstanding faculty/staff and the real-world experience gained through being a member of a thriving community theatre.
COM's Department of Theatre is uniquely qualified to offer this student-centered education through a well-rounded curriculum that identifies and nurtures outstanding young creative talent through rigorous training, learner-driven education and practical experience gained while working alongside professional actors, designers and guest directors.

Associate of Arts – Theatre – Performance Track
Step into the spotlight with COM’s Theatre Arts degree focused on Performance. From acting and voice to movement and stage presence, you’ll train in the essentials while gaining real-world experience through live productions and workshops. Whether your dream is the stage, film, or further study, this program gives you the skills and confidence to shine in any performance setting.
Theatre: Performance Track Degree Plan
Associate of Arts – Theatre – Technical Track
COM’s Theatre Arts degree with a Technical Theatre track puts you behind the scenes where the magic happens. You’ll gain hands-on training in set design, lighting, sound, costumes, and stage management while working on live productions. This program prepares you with the creative and technical skills to support every aspect of a performance and opens doors to careers in theatre, film, live entertainment, and beyond.

Financial Aid and Scholarships Available
Students completing an Associate of Arts (AA) degree at COM will meet the following requirements:
- Complete a minimum of 60 semester credit hours that may be comprised of courses from the core curriculum, institutional requirements, and Fields of Study.
- Maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average (GPA). Only credit-bearing College of the Mainland courses will be used to calculate a GPA.
- Complete last 15 credit hours toward this degree at COM, with the exception of reverse transfer.
- Satisfy TSI liability.
- Apply to COM via ApplyTexas and select "Culinary Arts"
- Meet with an advisor or enrollment coach to make sure you meet all program requirements.

- Associate of Arts - Theatre: Performance Track (4 semesters | 60 credit hours)
