Although College of the Mainland currently only offers a few general-education communication courses (in the discipline of speech), communication is a popular undergraduate major. Students earning a bachelor’s degree in communication may find employment as public-relations specialists, as writers in such fields as corporate communications, or as speechwriters. Communication majors may also work in fields such as marketing or media (including TV, Web-based media, or radio). They may also decide to pursue careers as high-school speech or debate teachers.
