Today at 8:29 a.m., COM Police Department (COM PD) was notified by Texas City Police Department (TCPD) after receiving reports of a male shooting at car windows on Shiloh Street in Texas City, which is located near campus.

COM activated a SHELTER at 8:33 a.m., which means to get inside and stay put.

At approximately 8:55 a.m., COM PD reported possibly seeing an individual matching the description of the suspect on campus at which time the College activated a LOCKDOWN due to a nearby threat. This means to stay in a locked or secure location until further notice.

The College remained under a LOCKDOWN while TCPD and COM PD searched the entire campus. At approximately 9:20 a.m., TCPD and COM PD announced an ALL CLEAR, which means that officials have determined that campus operations can proceed as normal at this time.

TCPD reported that the weapon has been recovered and suspect identified but is not yet in custody.
