The Cybersecurity Fundamentals Occupational Skills Award is designed to provide students with a fundamental education for obtaining employment in information security.
Occupational Skills Award Degree Plan
Certificate – Cybersecurity
The Cybersecurity Certificate is designed to provide students with a well-rounded education for obtaining employment in information security. This is a Level One Certificate.
Associate of Applied Science – Cybersecurity
The Associate of Applied Science in IT Cybersecurity is designed to provide students with a well-rounded education for obtaining employment in various areas of the information technology field, including Computer Support, Network Administrator, and Information Security.
Jobs Typically Involve
- Monitoring networks: Watching for suspicious activity and responding to potential security breaches.
- Protecting data: Setting up firewalls, antivirus software, and other tools to secure sensitive information.
- Investigating incidents: Identifying the source of security issues and helping recover compromised systems.
- Updating and patching systems: Keeping hardware and software current to reduce vulnerabilities.
- Developing security policies: Helping create procedures that guide safe technology use within an organization.
