From T-shirts to billboards, graphic design surrounds us.
In this hands-on program, students learn what the pros know about design, including digital photo manipulation and computer illustration.
Topics include the principles of design, Web design, typography and color theory. Students learn using industry-standard hardware and software.
Students will develop their portfolios through projects including logos, business packages, brochures, newsletters and billboards and websites.

Certificate – Graphic Design
A concentrated one-year degree program prepares students for careers in graphic design and media publishing. Through hands-on training and projects, students acquire the skills necessary to be successful in entry-level positions in advertising, publishing or related industries.
Associate of Applied Science – Graphic Design/Web Design
A concentrated two-year degree program prepares students for careers in graphic design, web design, digital publishing/printing, and multimedia design/development. Through hands-on training and projects, students acquire the skills necessary to be successful in industry.
An internship program helps bridge the gap from formal training to full-time employment. Articulation agreements exist between local high schools for this program.
Jobs Typically Involve
- Creating visual concepts: for print or digital media, including logos, illustrations, layouts, and marketing materials.
- Designing graphics: for websites, social media, advertisements, brochures, posters, and branding packages.
- Collaborating with clients or teams: to understand project goals, target audiences, and design requirements.
- Using design software: like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, or similar tools to produce professional artwork.
- Selecting colors, fonts, and visual styles: that align with brand guidelines or project needs.
- Preparing files for print or digital delivery, ensuring proper formatting, resolution, and specifications.
- Revising designs: based on feedback and making updates to improve clarity, aesthetics, or effectiveness.
- Managing multiple projects: and meeting deadlines in fast-paced creative or production environments.
