Testing Policies

To maintain the integrity of exams, all testers must adhere to the following rules, and failure to do so may result in invalidation of the test score and/or the exam:

Only testing candidates and staff are permitted in the testing room.

You must present a physical, current government-issued or COM photo ID. Digital photos or photocopies of IDs will not be accepted.

No electronic devices (phones, watches, tablets), hats, or head coverings are allowed in the testing room (except for religious/medical reasons).

No food, beverages, or guests are permitted. Continuous video monitoring and staff walkthroughs are in effect.

Use of study aids accessed through the Internet, including Web calculators, dictionary translators, and desktop accessories, is prohibited, unless approved by the testing company. Scratch paper must be turned in to staff for disposal.

Small lockers are provided, but COM is not responsible for items stored within them. No hats, scarves, hoods, or other head coverings of any kind are allowed inside the testing room except for religious or medical reasons.

Talking to other candidates, referring to their screens, or testing materials is not allowed. Unbecoming conduct, including exhibiting abusive, threatening, or aggressive behavior toward Testing Services staff and/or examinees, will result in dismissal from the Testing Center and, if necessary, a campus police escort.

Department/make-up exams are not allowed breaks. If you leave the room, you must turn in your exam. Only items designated by the instructor will be permitted. All exams must stop at the close of the business day.

Due to FERPA regulations, scores and candidate information is confidential and will not be released to anyone other than the testing candidate.
