Big Laughs, Big Stories and Broadway Hits:

The College of the Mainland (COM) Theatre is proud to announce its 2026-2027 season, presenting an exciting blend of classics, beloved Broadway musicals and contemporary adaptations.

Opening this year’s season is The 39 Steps, an adaptation of John Buchan’s novel featuring Hitchcockian thrills and Monty Python style absurdity, running Sept. 10-27. This fast, clever romp features nonstop laughs and over 150 characters played by just four actors, an onstage plane crash, handcuffs, espionage and a dash of old-fashioned romance.

Also featured in this season’s shows is Shakespeare’s R&J by Joe Calarco, a reimagining of the classic Romeo and Juliet with a contemporary twist. Additionally, Broadway musical hits Come From Away and Dear Evan Hansen are destined to delight audiences on the Mainstage at the Mainland in addition to a slate of shows on COM’s Freestage.

“I’m really excited about this upcoming season,” said COM Theatre Coordinator Michael McIntosh. “We have 11 productions across three different series, which means there’s always something happening at COM Theatre, over 90 evenings of performances. It’s going to be a big year, and our audiences are going to have a lot of fun with us.”

Local students may attend COM Theatre productions for free. Purchase individual and season tickets and find more information on the upcoming season.
