Alan Waters and Dr. Yolanda Nino-Waters establish Latinas Adelante Scholarship at College of the Mainland
College of the Mainland (COM) is pleased to announce a $20,000 donation from COM Board Trustee Alan Waters and Dr. Yolanda Nino-Waters to establish the Latinas Adelante Scholarship. The gift, which is to be funded over the next two years and then each year thereafter, highlights the couple's commitment to expanding opportunities for Latina women to succeed in achieving their higher educational goals.

Gates Scholarship Recipient Gets Jumpstart at COM
As the saying goes, "where there's a will, there's a way," and those words ring very true for Collegiate High School (CHS) Class of 2021 graduate Tremane Smith. Already a high-achieving Dickinson High School student, Tremane was recently selected as a 2021 Gates Scholarship recipient.

Gov. Greg Abbott signed House Bill 3348 into law on June 16 which permits public community colleges to offer up to five baccalaureate degree programs at any time. Collegiate High School Celebrates 2021 Graduates with Senior Drive-Thru Celebration
College of the Mainland's Class of 2021 Collegiate High School (CHS) graduates celebrated in grand fashion during a drive-thru car parade held in the college's parking lot on May 21. Families remained in their vehicles as CHS staff and spectators gathered to cheer on graduates riding in vehicles adorned with balloons and personalized messages and well-wishes.
