The purpose of the College of the Mainland’s Leadership Workshop Series is to provide beneficial resources that will be retainable, purposeful, and quality information for education, engagement, and experiences.
The College of the Mainland’s Leadership Workshop Series strives to support and transform students into leaders through a variety of resources that develop workforce opportunities, financial services, community outreach, self-development, and encourage investment toward education, innovation, and lifelong action.

The goal of the Leadership Workshop Series is to give the students a variety of resources and teaching tools for their success as they transfer and/or graduate from College of the Mainland.
John Maxwell Leadership Series – Fall 2020
All workshops are on Thursdays from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Microsoft Teams. These workshops are meant to be done as a series. It is expected that if you start them that you will make your best effort to attend all. A book is required that may be checked out in the gym lobby. Books are limited and must be returned when you finish the series at the end of the Spring semester.
Law 1 – The Law of Intentionality: Growth Doesn’t Just Happen
Law 2 – The Law of Awareness: You Must Know Yourself to Grow Yourself
Law 3 – The Law of the Mirror: You Must See Value in Yourself to Add Value to Yourself
Law 4 – The Law of Reflection: Learning to Pause Allows Growth to Catch Up with You
Law 5 – The Law of Consistency: Motivation Gets You Going – Discipline Keeps You Growing
Law 6 – The Law of Environment: Growth Thrives in Conducive Surroundings
Law 7- The Law of Design: To Maximize Growth, Develop Strategies
Law 8 – The Law of Pain: Good Management of Bad Experiences Leads to Great Growth
The DiSC assessment and workshops are available to students who have finished the first 8 laws in the fall of 2020 and to students who completed the entire program last year (2019-2020) and is considered part of the leadership series. A link to complete the assessment will be sent to students who have consistently attended the first 8 laws meetings. This link will be sent in October to be completed before November 5th.
