CPR classes for layperson, health care professional

Learn a life-saving skill at upcoming CPR classes at College of the Mainland. COM offers the American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR/AED Class for the general public and the American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR Class.

The American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR/AED Class trains anyone who wants to learn how to perform CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED). Skills include head tilt/chin lift, giving compressions and rescue breathing. Students will take a skills test and receive an AHA Heartsaver CPR/AED card after completing the course. The recommended minimum age is 16. The cost for in-district students is $45 and out-of-district students is $50. The class is Jan. 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR Class covers one and two-rescuer adult CPR, child CPR, infant CPR, and adult and pediatric foreign body airway obstruction. The cost for in-district students is $45 and out-of-district students is $50. Classes are Jan. 14 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., or Jan. 21 or Feb. 11 from 5-10 p.m.
