Homer M.(Mickey) Gentry

Professor Gentry has taught college-level courses in English literature and composition, technical writing, distance learning, beginning writing skills, business English, mass communications and advertising. In his professional experience, he has written a variety of publications, including brochures, technical articles, news releases, speeches and annual reports. After a career in advertising and public relations and part-time stints as a college instructor, Gentry joined College of the Mainland’s Humanities Department as a full-time English instructor.

Gentry holds a Master of Arts in English from the University of Houston and Bachelor of Arts degrees in math and English from Texas A&M – Commerce.

Teaching Philosophy: All students deserve a chance to reach their full academic potential. Instructors must help students find ways to best express ideas and communicate to a wide audience, both within college and beyond.
