My philosophy centers on an inclusive, safe, discussion-based learning environment. I believe that one of the most important characteristics of higher education is to present, inform and discuss ideas and topics that help students grow intellectually. I attempt to achieve this by allowing them to challenge their current assumptions and beliefs. I believe that class discussions about topics, theories and current events in psychology help achieve this goal by providing students with support and opposition to their current beliefs. More importantly, I work extensively to help students navigate through evidence-based information versus popular opinions.
