Work-Study Requirements
Students must meet the following requirements prior to working in the Work-Study Program:
- Students must complete a FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
- Students must make contact the Job Placement Specialist located in the Financial Aid Office to receive a referral.
- Students wanting to work off-campus must have completed English 1301 with a C or better.
- Students must have a minimal grade point average of 2.0
- Students will be expected to attend an orientation on the Work Study Employment Program. If students are unable to attend a face-to-face orientation he/she will be expected to review the orientation on the Work-Study web page and complete the quiz in the Student Financial Services office (Prior to being placed). Students that have completed an orientation will not have to attend another one.

| Peer Tutor Duties - Tutoring The peer tutor is responsible for •Being able to help the student apply the different stages of writing (i.e., invention, organizing, drafting and revising). •Helping the student to get and stay focused on a particular phase of the writing process (i.e., brain storming, writing a thesis statement, formatting with MLA including in-text citation and Works Cited page). •Improving sentence structure, correcting grammar and mechanics. •Asking appropriate questions to help the student focus. Pay is $10 per hour, approximately 15 hours per week over 32 week period.
