BP Texas City recently presented College of the Mainland with a check for $25,000 to provide transportation for area Collegiate High School (www.com.edu/chs) students. COM will use the money to hire a van and driver to transport students from the various school districts to and from the Texas City campus. The CHS program is open to high school students who take college level classes while completing their high school diplomas.

Many CHS students graduate from COM with an associate's degree several weeks before graduating with their high school class.

Ruth Rendon, director of community relations at BP, presented the check at a recent Board of Trustees meeting.
