Photography @ COM

Photo students at College of the Mainland have won awards in contests, both local and national, such as Photographers Forum, Texas Photographic Society, the Clear Lake Arts Alliance, and the Houston area Community College exhibitions at UHCL. They have gone on to get graduate degrees in photo, to work as photo journalists, and to work in related fields.

Now College of the Mainland offers video production as well as still photography. Come join us - work with professional photographers to master the craft and expand your horizons!

Students may take four semesters of photography for credit at COM:

Arts 2356, PHOTO I
Students will learn about cameras, how to process film and how to print pictures.
Arts 2357, PHOTO II
Demonstrations on portrait lighting, product lighting, medium and large format work and digital imaging.
Arts 2259 & 2260, ADVANCED PROBLEMS
Students will develop their own portfolios and will have a solo show the final semester.
