COM Student Government Association

Welcome

The COM Student Government Association (SGA) is the official student governance body at College of the Mainland. Its main responsibilities are to help facilitate student / faculty relations, ensure that student concerns and needs are met, and oversee student clubs and other activities.

This may seem complicated, but in practice, the organization really just makes sure that students have a voice in what goes on around campus. We also make sure that your college experience is as fun and entertaining as possible!

Get involved!

The SGA is currently looking for new members. Many of our members from last year have moved on to other colleges and greener pastures, so almost all positions are open. To join, take a look at the Duties and Responsibilities of SGA Officers then contact the SGA Adviser.

For more information about what it's like to be a member of SGA, check out the About SGA link or take a look at one of our Photo Albums.

If you're really interested, try to attend one of our meetings!

Got Something to Say?

Student involvement is a key part of student government. "Student", after all, is right in our name! If you would like to contact the SGA in order to inform them about an event you're running, to request additional club funding, to voice a complaint or concern, or to simply bring something to our attention, feel free to come to one of our club meetings.

On the first Thursday of every month, we hold General Meetings during College Hour (12:30-1:30) in A-127, where representatives from each club meet to discuss upcoming events. We would love to hear from you there.

Every regular Thursday during College Hour (12:30-1:30) we have Executive Meetings opened to the public, were the executive officers of the SGA meet and discuss club business. The Executive Meetings are held in the Fish Bowl in the Student Center.

All meetings are opened to the public, so don't be afraid to come. All we ask is if you would give prior notice before coming to one of our Executive or General Meetings so that we can put you on our agenda.

If you can't come to the meetings, feel free to e-mail us from our Contact List.
