COM Mentor Program

The COM Mentor Program is a partnership between College of the Mainland faculty/staff and students.  The COM Mentor Program will be a significant unit of the college to provide direction, leadership, knowledge, and growth for students to achieve success in life.  The end result will be improvement in retention, transfer, and graduation rates.

  1. The COM Mentor Program will establish a network of faculty and staff who volunteer to support and guide students through the college experience.
  2. The COM Mentor Program will foster mentoring relationships that support students’ journey towards self-reliance, successful graduation, and transfer to a four-year institution or job placement.
  3. The COM Mentor Program will challenge students to work through personal and academic challenges, and build self-esteem and confidence through the pursuit of higher education.

The COM Mentor Program intends to help COM students feel supported by college personnel, comfortable and safe in a welcoming learning environment, and challenged and rewarded by successfully navigating the college process. The program will support the acquisition of knowledge and the journey to becoming life-long learners.
