Get the most out of your COM experience by meeting with one of our advisors and creating a clear educational plan. We can help you with understanding core curriculum, mapping out a degree plan, selecting appropriate courses, accessing on-campus student resources and calculating your ideal work load. Here, you can learn what you need to know about dropping a course, as well as making a smooth transition to a university. Anything regarding your academic career at COM, we can answer for you.
We recommend you meet with an advisor each semester. All advising sessions should be scheduled by appointment. However, during open registration, advisors can meet with you on a walk-in basis. You must have your student ID.
Note: All students requesting degree audits, plans and educational development plans for financial aid, nursing or veteran’s affairs must schedule an appointment to meet with an advisor.
All academic advising sessions are confidential.

Smarthinking is a free online tutoring service for credit students.
How do I access Smarthinking?
If you are a credit student, enrolled in a credit course this semester, you have a student account created on the Smarthinking web site.
Click on the Smarthinking button or type https://learning.smarthinking.com into your browser's address box to go to the Smarthinking home page.
Your username is your COM student email address.
Example: msmith2469@com.edu
Your password is your 7 digit COM ID number.
Example: 0001234 - be sure to include leading zeros
