Message from the Senior Coordinator

Wow...seniors have been busy this past year. The credit goes to all of you who have participated in the mail-outs, garage sale, plant sale and card party fundraiser. Other fundraising efforts have been the adorable quilt made by Alba Collins, beautiful stained glass created by Ada Faye and Grover Salsbury and double hammock handmade by Herman Auer. You can still purchase tickets for the hammock for $1/raffle. The quilt was awarded at the card party on May 16. The stained glass was awarded at the puppet show in August.

We are enjoying the beautiful flowers and care being given by Solveig Cornille to our landscape. Come and sit on our memory swing (in honor of our seniors who have passed on) in the front of the building and hear the birds. Joan Self (our new part-time office assistant) and Marilyn Vodovar are eager to help you.

The Senior Advisory Council members have worked hard and deserve a pat on the back. They are Nidus Abrahams, Alva Cothern, Gloria Conz, Marge Dale, Penny Davis, Jessie Daly, Sam DeFatta, Shirley Hollingsworth, Pete Huerta, Shirley Mapps, Jesse Rodriguez, Ada Faye Salsbury, Beverly Self and Carmelita Yeager.

From a personal stance, I am proud of the seniors and the program. Many of you have stepped in at a moment's notice and helped. This is the reason it is successful! If you have any new ideas, please come and share them with me and we will try to make them happen.

Print Correction: Raymond Hardcastle and Lucy Hardcastle were pictured with pencil drawings in the summer issue, not Raymond Lowe or Verna Lowe. Sorry!

Sincerely,

Eva R. Neinas, Coordinator
