Texas City High School (TCHS) students thinking about a career as a firefighter, paramedic or other allied health professional can get a head start this spring with a new dual credit course that College of the Mainland (COM) will teach at Texas City Fire Station #1.

The dual credit class - providing both college and high school credit - is the first step in most of COM's popular public service career fields.

The class will meet Mondays through Fridays from 7:35 to 10 a.m. January 19 through May 14, 2010.

There is a mandatory parent's meeting November 11 at 6:30 p.m. at TCHS for all students interested in the course. For more information, students may contact their high school counselor.
