COM Foundation honors Donors of the Year

Posted on: December 06, 2012

College of the Mainland Foundation has honored three groups as Donors of the Year for their generous contributions, which enabled the Foundation to provide funding this year for 150 students to further their education. Del Papa Distributors; Bill and Jennifer Raley in memory of his mother, Vlasta Hill; and the COM-BAT Triathlon have offered longstanding support for student scholarships.

“The Donors of the Year showed incredible generosity in making these contributions. Their actions will have a long-term positive impact on our community, and College of the Mainland is honored to partner with these community leaders in fostering student success,” said Dr. Amy Locklear, acting COM president.

“Not only do deserving students directly benefit from these scholarships, their families do as well. Many scholarship recipients are the first in their families to go to college. Several of the scholarship recipients remarked that they were proud to serve as examples to their children in pursuing higher education.”
The COM Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to make education affordable for every student, regardless of income or background. For more information on the Foundation, visit
