Prepare to launch into college

Posted on: June 14, 2012

This summer, get ready to survive and thrive in college with College of the Mainland’s Ready, Set, College! Classes.

Choose to attend any or all of the free seminars: College Study Skills, Budget 101 and Mastering Self-Management. Classes will share the essential college tools from how to fill out the FAFSA to taking excellent notes and creating action lists.

Students will be able to meet other students, connect with educators, learn skills and even win door prizes.

“For anyone who wants to go to college, these classes are a good first step,” said Theresa Jones, director of advising.

The one-day, stand-alone classes are held at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Tuesdays from June 19 to July 31 at room TVB 1470. Students may arrive 45 minutes before class for a tour of the COM campus. Staff will be available to assist in submitting admissions applications and to provide financial aid information.
