Welcome to College of the Mainland! Thank you for your interest in the Dual Credit / Concurrent Enrollment program. Many high school students in Texas now take advantage of the opportunity to attend college while in their junior and senior years of high school. College of Mainland offers you this same option through its dual credit/concurrent enrollment program with your high school.

By participating in the dual credit program, it enables you to make substantial progress toward your college degree before finishing high school. Students who begin taking courses in their junior year can earn thirty or more college credits by the time they graduate from high school if they also take summer classes at the College. You can earn college sophomore status even before you start college full time.

This web site contains information describing our program. Included is information about scholarships, frequently asked questions, and the Dual Credit Student Handbook. This handbook provides information and resources regarding eligibility requirements, admissions process, testing information, and registration. To get you started in the right direction, a link is provided to the admissions office to let you to apply to the College online.

You have a chance to take advantage of a program that is growing each semester. From talking to program participants, I believe that the opportunity to get a "head start" on college courses continues to be an important element in their educational experience. Please feel free to share this information with other students who might be interested. If you do not get all of your concerns addressed today, please do not hesitate to call us at the number listed on the right. When you decide to take advantage of this program, let us know and we will be glad to assist you, if you need help.

Again, thanks for your interest and for letting us help you as you get a Head Start on College!
