Conclusion
In conclusion, having begun its diversity initiative over one (1) decade ago, College of the Mainland continues its commitment towards diversity and equity by approving and adopting this (4) four year Strategic Diversity Plan. Findings of The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Advisory Committee indicate that students often leave college because of the lack of institutional fit. This same problem is also true of women and minority faculty and professional staff. Therefore, College of the Mainland is determined to accomplish its mission to prepare students to live and work in a diverse and global environment by demonstrating respect for diversity by creating relationships, policies, and procedures that support individual differences.
