The
face of America is changing
to mirror the various cultures
that
are represented. At the College
of the Mainland (COM), we
recognize that our campus “make
up” is
also changing. Currently
on track to achieving Hispanic
Serving
Institution (HSI) status.
And, of the 3,948 credit students for Fall 2004,
nearly
50%
are minority:
 17.2%
- African American
 18.5%
- Hispanic 3.2%
- Other Minority
We
embrace diversity at COM for many reasons,
including:
Our
faculty, staff and students represent
a myriad
of
cultural
backgrounds.
The
communities in which we serve
are very diverse.
Our
future leaders represent various
cultures.
