Lonica Bush, J.D., is the Executive Director & In House Counsel of Diversity and Equity at the College of the Mainland.
Her department is responsible for new employee orientation, and employee professional development. In addition, the Office of Diversity and Equity is charged with developing, implementing, and evaluating the College's diversity plan that includes hiring and retaining a culturally diverse workforce, with an emphasis on faculty and administrator positions.
"My goal is to provide leadership over the College's recruitment and hiring process, as well as administer programs, essential to our diversity efforts, that foster a healthy, stimulating and diverse environment for students and employees."
Bush is from Crosby, Texas and holds a doctorate in Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law, a bachelor's degree in Radio and Television from the University of Houston, and an associate degree from Lee Jr. College in Baytown.
