Core Curriculum

Each of these degrees contain 42 hours of courses in the Core Curriculum. COM complies with The Higher Education Coordinating Board and House Bill 2183, adopted by the 70th Texas Legislature, which defines Core Curriculum as “the curriculum in the liberal arts, humanities, and sciences and political, social, and cultural history that all undergraduates of a particular institution of higher education are required to complete before receiving an associate or baccalaureate degree.” This component of undergraduate education is also known as General Education.

If a student completes the Core Curriculum, all courses will transfer and fulfill the core requirements at other public institutions in Texas.
