Online Learner Workshop : College of the Mainland Online
Online Learner Workshop
The Online Learner Workshop is an introduction to the Blackboard Learning Management System. Blackboard is where your online courses are hosted. By completing the Online Learner Workshop you will gain the skills necessary to succeed in your online course.
We have found over the past 3 years that students who complete the Online Learner Workshop have a 20% higher success rate in online classes than students who have not completed the workshop.
All students must successfully complete the Online Learner Workshop before you will be allowed to register for your first Internet or hybrid course.
Students who have already successfully completed the Workshop or have already received a grade of C or higher in an Internet (IN) or Hybrid (HY) section at College of the Mainland will not be stopped from registering for Internet and Hybrid sections.
The free workshop will familiarize you with navigating, viewing content and communicating in Blackboard. You will also be able to practice certain tasks, such as posting to a Discussion board, submitting an assignment, and taking a quiz.
