Advice to students
Getting a college degree is similar to baking a cake:
- If you do not have the ingredient list, it may take you several attempts to create something worthwhile. Be sure to obtain a degree plan from an advisor early in college. Your degree plan is your ingredient list for a degree. Follow the degree plan to make your time and efforts worthwhile.
- If you do not use the right ingredients, your cake will not rise. If you do not use the right ingredients for school, your scores will not rise. Attend all of your classes and allow yourself time to study every week for every class to see your grades rise.
- If you do not add icing and decorations to your cake, it will be plain. Become involved in student organizations and campus activities to make school more exciting. Take the opportunity to include fun in your college life.
