Graduation Information
Commencement
Commencement will be held Friday, May 10, 2013, at the Abundant Life Center at 601 Delaney Rd. in La Marque. It begins at 7 p.m. and lasts about two hours. Doors will open to the public at 6 p.m. No tickets are needed for entrance. **Please note the location and starting time of the ceremony. Also, because of limited parking, please consider carpooling from the College to the venue. Faculty and professional staff are to report to the center by 6:15 p.m. at the sign-in table in Champions Hall located in the north foyer.
Honors/Hightest Honors
Honors/highest honors designations are based only on the GPA accumulated at COM, and the student must have at least 40 hours at COM. When a student is completing in the summer and has received special permission from Dr. Locklear to participate in the May ceremony, they will not be awarded their honors or highest honors at the ceremony because their GPA will not be final until summer. They can pick up their honors at that time.
Graduation Packets
Graduation packets will be mailed no later than Friday, April 19. Graduates should call the Office of Admissions and Records at Ext. 8264 if they have not received their packet by April 26. The deadline to apply to participate in the ceremony is Friday, April 5. Students may still participate if they turn in their application after this date; however, because it is past the deadline, their names may not appear in the program.
Regalia
Regalia can be picked up starting Monday, April 29, 2013, in the Student Center, upstairs in Room S-203. There is no charge for the regalia. For questions regarding regalia, please contact Jackie Andres at 409-933-8355. Students can purchase invitations and their PTK stoles in the COM Bookstore. For all other PTK-related items, they must contact Chris Allen at 409-933-8333.
Pictures
Pictures will be taken at graduation by Gulf Coast Imaging Studios, a third-party vendor. COM only supplies graduate names and email addresses. All inquiries should be made directly to the company. The contact information is 409-945-5055.
Diplomas
Students will be given a diploma tube on stage containing a letter from President Lewis. Actual diplomas are mailed 6-8 weeks later, upon completion of the semester.
Graduate Roll
Graduate roll information will be sent out soon. Contact Laura Divine at 409-933-8491.
